Privacy
Residex will not disclose to any third party any personally identifiable information that it obtains in the course of its commercial transactions with you unless you specifically agree otherwise.
Residex collects and has collected public information in the form of title and property sales transactions from various Government agencies for approximately two decades. Residex does not provide marketing lists from any government data. The information obtained from Government agencies does contain property owner names and, in the case of some states, the owner’s address. To the extent that any property owner does not wish others to know of their property ownership then Residex will remove his or her name and address from its database providing the identified owner requests same by writing to Residex at PO Box 6192, North Sydney, 2060
You acknowledge and agree that:
- without prejudice to the generality of any other terms and conditions of this website, Residex has certain obligations under its license agreements with relevant government agencies including an obligation to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and other relevant privacy legislation, and an obligation not to use the information it has obtained from government agencies for direct marketing purposes
- you must inform us immediately if a complaint is made against you that the privacy of an individual has been interfered with, in contravention of any relevant privacy legislation, and you must co-operate and otherwise comply with any direction that we (or any relevant government agency) may give you in this respect
- you must take immediate steps to suppress the release of any personal information (in contravention of any relevant privacy legislation) if requested to do so by us or any relevant government agency, and must provide us with such evidence that we (or any relevant government agency may require) that you have done so
- any breach by you of any obligations with respect to the personal privacy of individuals imposed on you under these terms and conditions may cause Residex to be in breach of its obligations under its license agreements with various government agencies; and
- in that event you must indemnify Residex against any loss, costs, charges or expenses which Residex may thereby incur.
- these obligations continue notwithstanding that your membership registration has been suspended or deleted.
